Unlocking Channels On Dvb Dream

Statue of Verdun in 1931 made by the sculptor Varenne

The statue crowns the Verdun pediment east (right) of the facade of the Gare de l'Est. This facade was built in the late 1920s, two years after the end of the First World War. It is the mirror image of west pediment (left) built in the mid-nineteenth century.
After the war of 14-18, the Gare de l'Est refers to all the French point of departure to the front of hairy. It becomes a place of remembrance of the Great War. Verdun, here represented by a helmeted woman bearing sword and shield bearing the image of the city, symbolizes the homeland defense against the German offensive.
