Pigeons urban pigeons are descendants of campaigns. They were kept in lofts for their meat or race. These domestic birds, with urban growth in the nineteenth, have migrated to big cities and have become semi-domesticated, half wild. It is the rural exodus of pigeons.
Today, tens of thousands of pigeons living in Paris (90% of them are rock doves).
